4 days ago I was freaking out because of the fact that I was not freaked out like everyone else in class. I broke it down into writing one page per day and thus, felt no pressure with writing the paper.
Well,
I guess I was so behind compared to everyone else because ...
I'm freaking out right now. *~*
3 days left and here I am spreading all my sources all over my bed, trying to wrap my head around the themes I have so I could start writing.
I have the introduction.
I know I will be using Dewey for my theoretical framework..
And I have my not-quite-good-enough outline. (Working towards deleting the "not-quite"
Oh by the way, I came across this quote over the weekend for self motivation:
"Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others... By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves." - President Gordon B Hinckley.
Well well well, so instead of thinking that I am dying here writing my lit review, I redirected my thoughts towards: I am doing this for a higher purpose, becoming a better teacher, setting the bar higher and teaching my kids right.
So,
JUST KEEP SWIMMING, guys! We're almost there.
This quote totally works for me. (My mom thinks I could win a whining contest if there is one.)
And finally, as usual, a picture to make you awww.
There's always the first time for everything - (note to self: first time drafting my lit review)
JUST KEEP SWIMMING!
ReplyDeleteYeah. I was totally in the same boat the last few weeks, reading articles, getting my head wrapped around my topic, and generally not freaking out whatsoever.
Well, I was not freaking out until I sat down this Sunday and really started trying to wrangle the papers into coherent, flowing themes. What a mess. I hold myself to pretty high standards in my writing, and it's hard to let things go as "good enough". But like you said, it's the first attempt, so I just gotta let it go.
