So last week I felt like I had so much to do and no time to do it. I still feel that way but my research question got its 'good enough' approval by Jolynn. SCORE!! One less thing I need to worry about, but then I look at assignments I have to do for other classes and that feeling of being overwhelmed strikes again. I am now in a perpetual state of liminality that I cannot seem to escape. One minute I have it under control, the next I have no clue where to even begin. These last few weeks have been so intense I just want to be able to relax and take a break without feeling guilty that I should be doing something summer class related.
After today's conversation about filling out the IRB forms I feel like it is something that is manageable (thank you Jolynn for supplying an example). But holy crud!! its due in two weeks. Where has the time gone? How can we be half way done with this class? And I have to have my question pre-thoughtout for the IRB. I'm not really sure what I am going to ask or what questions will be helpful. At least I can adjust them when I am ready to start interviewing. Well good luck to all and have a great weekend.
Hi Megan,
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone with feeling overwhelmed with this summer school session. I'm so glad you feel good about your "good enough" question. It's such a relief to at least have that and some research under our belts. I'm overwhelmed with how much we have to do, too. Although we have a lot to do in all of our classes, I truly feel like this is the most important class we are taking this summer. That is how I have been rationalizing getting enough reading/notes/research done.
I can't believe the IRB is due so soon. I haven't thought much past what methods I want to use. Now we need to figure out how exactly we are going to use them! It is a little daunting, I will not lie. I am sticking with my "good enough" question for the IRB and probably will tweak it as more research/methods/writing come along. I hope you have a great Fourth of July tomorrow and enjoy some parts of the weekend. Just think, only three more weeks. We will get it all done and we'll get a small reprieve before fall.
