Writer's Workshop

I am interested in looking at writer's workshop in my classroom of first graders of EL students.  Coming from a scripted curriculum I would like to look at the self-efficacy of writing among first graders.  The incoming kindergarten students have not participated in writer’s workshop and much choice of writing, their learning of writing stems from formulaic sentence frames and writing prompts.

         I would like to look at their beginning of the year self efficacy of writing before engaging in writer’s workshop and then mid way after beginning writer’s workshop and at the end of the year.   I am interested in how peer conferences, mentor texts and teacher conferences affect student writing and their perception of writing.
